Director of Finance

Job Description

This position covers a broad spectrum of functions and responsibilities which include, but are not limited to: being accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

The Director of Finance reports directly to CAF s CEO, Mike Zahajko, who s background is all about Customers Obsession given his long background in sales and entrepreneurial development. That said, numbers matter and are imperative in the discussion. But, there is much-much more to the story Mike s management philosophy is focused on four (4) Employee Tenants: Grit. Smart. Culture. Your Core Responsibilities

You will manage CAF s company finances, including financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping and financial reporting

You will be responsible for overseeing the budget process and expense control

You will be responsible for developing, training and coaching CAF s finance and accounting department employees

30-50% executive projects (outside finance role)

A Preview of Your Day-to-Day:

Department and Team Management

1. Hire, train and manage Accounting and Finance team

2. Set goals and manage employee performance

3. Work with executive leadership to develop and maintain department long term plan

Planning

1. Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives

2. Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans

3. Develop financial and tax strategies

4. Manage the capital request and budgeting processes

5. Develop key performance measures that support the company's strategic direction

Operations

1. Actively participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team

2. Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team

3. Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations

4. Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced

5. Oversee the company's transaction processing systems

6. Implement operational best practices

7. Coordinate tax compliance requirements and strategy

8. Participate in acquisition activities

9. Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts

10. Maintain banking relationships

11. Maintain appropriate insurance coverage

Financial Responsibilities

1. Oversee the issuance of reporting

2. Treasury and cash management

3. Oversee daily Account and Bookkeeping period closing and reconciliation

Controls and Compliance

1. Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile

2. Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry

3. Construct and monitor reliable control systems

4. Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements

5. Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies

6. Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors

7. Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

IT Management

1. Coordinate and manage company IT strategic plan and budgeting

2. Coordinate all IT Managed Services and external contractors

3. Oversee all company internal and external IT personnel

4. Manage key software systems (e. g. Dynamics GP)

Executive Projects

1. Leadership participation in ongoing NPD, growth opportunities and other CAF initiatives

Qualifications

What You Will Need to Succeed:

- 5+ years of financial management experience - Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance

- Excellent financial and business understanding - Proven success in a fast paced and dynamic company

-Strong strategic thinking and planning / organizational skills - Experience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills

Thrive in high-velocity / fast paced company - Satisfy pre-employment drug testing

You Might Also Have:

Full computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, and Enterprise accounting software - GP preferred)

Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance, Certified Public Accountant

or Certified Management Accountant designations

Accuracy and attention to detail - Strong social, written and verbal skills

Professional and consistent work habits, strong work ethic, driven to achieve personal and company goals

Reside within 18 miles from CAF Office (Maple Valley, 98038)

Additional Information

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 /year

Monday to Friday

CAF Holiday off paid + Quarterly Bonus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
